Anyplace in Western Washington that does this, I would like to try and find something to do along these lines. Is it something that a new guy with nothing more than maybe some Military training can get into easy?

Check the IDPA website. They will list local clubs and hopefully one will host 3 gun matches.

Don't know if these guys are anywhere close to you but they run 3 gun matches.

All ya need is a decent rifle, sensible pistol & a pump gun to get started, once you have the experience to progress, then you can buy all the cool, go faster, race stuff you want.....:D
