I have a bushy and love it. It started life as a bushy upper on a colt lower. Worked flawlessly. Returned the Colt lower to the original Colt upper. Made the Bushy 100%. It works flawlessly.

I Acquired A Bushmaster Carbine In 2001 With A Pinned Brake. No Flash Hider. (lying Bill Assault Rifle Ban Still In Effect) No Feeding Problems But Did Notice A Looseness Between Upper And Lower Receiver. Acuwedge Seemed To Correct Problem. Still Not A Truck Cab Weapon. When Traveling I Carry A Kel-tec .40 S&w Suv 2000 In A Sears Tool Pouch. This Has A Folded Lenght Of 16" And Is Batf Classified As A Rifle. As An Aside I Did Notice My Ruger Mini 14 (.223) Seemed To Have A Louder Report Than The Bushmaster; May Be Just Old Age.

I have one Bushmaster complete lower (on which I have a standard 20inch A2 upper from J&T Distributing)...

When I first received the complete lower, I noticed that the machining of the sides of the receiver in the area of the hammer and trigger pins was very rough. I called up Bushmaster and explained the problem and was told to send it back for replacement (this is the serial numbered part, remember, and most places give you a line of crap about something like this).

I did send it back, thinking that I'd probably see a replacement just about the time that I retired, or that I'd be getting some last minute song and dance from Bushmaster about fixing the problem.

What I did get was very personable treatment on the phone, and a new, replacement complete lower shipped directly to me by return UPS...

The replacement lower is perfect.

Bushmaster has some of the best customer service in the business.

In the unlikely event that you have a problem, they'll bend over backwards to fix it to your satisfaction.

I'm very happy with what I've got from them...

Forrest

Yeah Bushy has great customer service. They should, they have to do plenty of it. I got one upper that had to go back twice and then at a tactical course, the gas key came loose. That was more than a little aggravating but it was simple to fix. No malfunctions with that however.

I am not trying to bash them, I think they make a decent AR - just my experience.

Seems a lot of people have to send shit back.
Seems there were a lot of improperly staked gas keys and some cracked bolts.
I don't know if they straightened that all out or not.

I am thinking about getting another Bushy upper--pkfirearms has great prices on them--but if I do I will drop a Colt B/BC in it. In all honesty, I would drop a colt bolt group in any AR I bought, regardless.
I got a couple of LMT bolts a while back and they suck ass IMO.
I have a dozen ARs and all of them except the Bushy have Colt bolts in them. FWIW, almost every upper is a Colt with some other manufactured lowers.

I think the BM's of old are pretty decent, but don't believe they build a quality weapon any more.

I would stick with Colt, LMT, Sabre Defence, BCM or Stag Arms.
