Are the current Essential Arms lowers any good? The website says they're forged but then it says something about "investment process"(casting?).

I own 3 EA lowers, and they are of
excellent quality. Call Vaughn Johnson
at Essential Arms. He is honest and
quite happy to answer any questions.

I think the early EA lowers were investment castings. The new ones are forged.
I have an early one and it's excellent.

Well mine finally came in.Pretty nice overall. There were some machining marks in the trigger opening area and on the front of the magwell but they weren't too bad.All the parts from my DPMS LPK fit perfect.I'm pretty happy with it.

I built 3 rifles on em No complaints . They are just as good as anyone elses
I bought two. They both sucked. Not even close to a quality lower like Stag or Mega.

You must be the only one then because there are a ton of people who have bought em and all said the same thing. Including me. A great lower at a great price.

Mega on left. EA on right.

And neither will take a PMAG or Thermold. Both these receivers are garbage. The guy at EA said he would refund my money, less shipping and a 15% restocking fee. YMMV.

NO to rag on them, but my experience with them is not great.
I'm not a fan of cast receivers.
I believe they do make forged receivers too.

actually they do not make cast lowers anymore and have not in a long time. they are all forged. I bought 3 and they were as good as anyone elses in every respect. All the parts fit and I was totally happy. No out of spec areas and a decent finish. I got all 3 for less than 90 a piece shipped and that was with my FFL transfer fee. None of mine had rough areas on them like the one pictured in this thread. They do not have goofy logo's and a bunch of garbage I do not want like finger grip serations.
If you want that crap and want to pay more for it then knock your self out. I wanted a solid mil spec lower for a build I got that and for a lot less than some other lower.s

so you got the bad egg in the bunch , qualify your statement and do not make the blanket assumption that they are all bad, if they were you would hear a lot more bitching , which you do not.

LOL, yeah, two for two is "the bad egg" and "I bought two" "both these receivers were garbage" doesn't qualify my statement. WTF is your problem? You made your comments and relayed your experience, allow me the same courtesy.
